Dan Kipp

Founder & Managing Partner

Dan is a seasoned, Chicago-based investment professional with three decades of investing and financial advisory experience.  He has extensive experience across venture capital, growth equity and buyout investments, as well as in financial advisory and corporate finance disciplines and has boardroom experience ranging from startup to multinational companies.  Prior to City Capital, Dan co-founded Winona Capital Management and served on its Board and Investment Committee since its inception in 2006. He previously enjoyed a 17-year investment banking career with Salomon Brothers and Bank of America, at the latter serving as Managing Director and Global Co-Head of the Consumer Markets investment banking unit.  Dan lives in Winnetka with his three great children, two playful dogs, and one fantastic wife, Suzanne.  He is an avid sports fan, long suffering Cleveland Browns and Cubs fan,  vintage jazz & R&B enthusiast, and bass player.

Allen Tibshrany

Managing Director

Allen has more than 17 years of investment, strategy and operations experience working with both privately held and publicly traded companies. He has worked across multiple industries including food, consumer products, retail, transportation and energy.  Prior to joining City Capital, Allen was with Sterling Partners – a Chicago-based growth private equity firm – where he focused on investing in growth consumer/retail businesses. Before Sterling, Allen was with A.T. Kearney, a leading global management consultancy.   Allen lives in Chicago with his amazing wife, Amy, and two wonderful daughters.  He is an optimistic golfer, passionate college sports fan, avid outdoorsman, and foodie.

Mark Holroyd

Managing Director & Finance Director

Over the course of the last 20+ years, Mark has held a wide variety of executive positions requiring the application of his business and financial acumen - working closely with established businesses, entrepreneurs and the venture capital/private equity community at large to source, diligence and close strategic and financial investments. Additionally, he has extensive experience monitoring portfolio companies as well as evaluating and executing principal investments. Prior to joining CCV, Mark spent several years in the investments industry. Mark and his wife live in Wilmette raising their two children.

Jeremy Bauer

Vice President

Jeremy has 10+ years of professional experience in growth and strategy, mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling and hands-on operations. Prior to joining City Capital Ventures, Jeremy worked for Lakeview Investment Group and Levy Family Partners, the family office of Larry Levy, acting in many roles. While at Levy, Jeremy completed the merger of Levy Acquisition Corp. and Del Taco and helped facilitate investments in Aloha Poke and The Wiener’s Circle.  Prior to joining Levy, Jeremy worked in Raymond James’ investment banking division in Chicago providing merger and strategic advisory services and debt and equity financing for companies in the financial industries group.  Jeremy graduated from Northwestern University and currently lives in Chicago with his beautiful wife Jenna. He is a passionate Chicago sports fan and loves to stay active at the gym or through playing sports.

A Chicago area native, Taggart joins CCV as a part of our Catalyst Team. Taggart provides consulting support to portfolio companies to create value through revenue growth and process improvements. He studied American History at Brown where he was also Captain of the Men’s Crew, culminating in a runner up national championship finish. Following graduation, he pursued the USMC Officer Candidate Program. Taggart enjoys Chicago sports and spends his weekends outside, either on Lake Michigan, or camping with his retriever, Murphy in-tow.
